The mechanics said Spellforce, but the story and the world did not. In Spellforce 3, I wasn’t excited about the God of Light, but it worked since it lead to the creation of the Circle. As a means to an end it was okay. Soul Harvest: So the God of Light is the antagonist again. Since the Spellforce games are not only real time strategy but also have a role-play component it also includes quests, lots of them actually. The rewards vary from simple experience points to legendary artefacts, rare spells, collectibles or equipment. Quests are usually given to the protagonist by talking with characters in the world or by interacting with objects lying around in the world.

Posted: 12 AprilI'm rating this 'No' but I would rather have an option for 'Maybe'. I bought this a while back and played it just enough to be able to request a refund.
The base building + RPG element sounded amazing to me but I just didn't feel like this game did either of them very well. Months later, I saw the game on sale and was it had new DLC as well as boasting a massive patch. I ended up caving and buying it again. While it definitely had improved it still felt very 'meh' to me. I decided to keep it and I'll most likely give it another try when the mood strikes me. I recommend snagging this one when it is on sale and play just long enough to request a refund if it turns out to disappoint you as much as it originally disappointed me.
Posted: 12 AprilI enjoy the rts and rpg aspects. They are decent.
The UI improvements are also very welcome. Regarding mechanics its definitly an improvement over the base game. The game is also beautiful to look at. A lot of good.But. The writing is so poor and cringe.
Characters propagating their boring backstory. Character motivation just doesnt make any sense (The writing is just as bad as divinity original sin). If you are sensitive to this i would not recommend the game. But otherwise its great!
